When I purchase pieces, Iv'e always considered the quality of any piece before I have looked for any restoration. If I am satisfied the quality is there I consider any restoration. If the piece has a rarity value then any restoration found is not necessarily an issue. Higher prices normally are determined by rarity first, then condition then quality. This is particularly so during the 18th century but not the case during the 19th century. Although rarity will always come first, it is the quality of the modelling and then the quality of the restoration that will determine whether I make a purchase.
