Two interesting Meissen cups and saucers Minimize

Production at the manufactory just after the period of Marcolini slowed down to a bare minimum. Even their survival was questionable. It wasnt until the middle of the 19th century that production improved dramtatically. Figural production at the time was virtually non existant. However, the production department managed to excel at producing tableware. These two named cups and saucers richly decorated in black on a white ground and bold gold borders would have been destined for the display cabinet rather than the dining table. For further information contact Sworders details below A pair of Meissen cabinet cups and saucers, c. 1820, printed with either Dresden or Konigstein, gilt line borders rubbed, various marks, crossed swords (4) £100 to £150 6 February 2007 www.sworder.co.uk
