Outstanding collection of meissen comes onto the Market Minimize

This morning I spent an hour or so being informally shown round what must be one of the largest single owner collections of 19th century Meissen that has come onto the market for more than quarter of a century. In all some 1,500 hundred pieces comprising of mostly figures and groups but also some rather rare vases too. Whereas many smaller collections do come up for sale from time to time, what makes this collection so special is that the owner had a most discerning eye for the best and although it is possible to find some restoration on the whole the majority of items are in perfect condition. Although not all of the collection was on view I managed to spot some 20 or 30 models I had never seen before.

When the auctioneers have a date I will be able to give you more information and hope to display some of the items.

When a collection of this size comes onto the market it gives way to a great opportunity to be able to inspect at first hand Meissen porcelain at its best. Like visiting a museum but better because in the auction salesroom you can touch. Please email laurence@buymeissen.com for further information
