Was Augustus The Strong Obsessive? MinimizeHelp

Augustus the Strong was an assidious collector. His passion was for acquiring anything that increased the size of his collection. Some people say he was the greatest collector of all time. Certainly the Green Vault in Dresden Germany displays an astonishing variety of priceless artifacts.

Trying to find causes to many of the disorders we succumb to has never been an easy task. Many of the latter twentieth century disorders some say are attributed to the changes occurring in our environment and the caused by the toxicity in the air. No doubt the Industrial Revolution brought with it hazards to health with new experiments associated with manufacture that could be one of the culprits. But Augustus The Strong was around prior to the Industrial Revolution.

Most certainly his habitual collecting was an obsession. It could have been a compulsive attitude too. If this be the case then surely disorders are a trait in our genes? But this is all guess work that requires effort. Surely this was evident when he exchanged nearly 600 soldiers in exchange for 17th century Chinese Vases. Hence the name 'Soldier Vases' or I will exchange my subjects to enhance my collection.

Could it be possible too if he be given a choice or an 'alternative to whatever was going on in his mind was it a passion or obsession or is passion an obsession or does it really matter. Nevertheless if you are an assidious collector of Meissen or of something different possibly you may consider you have an obsession. Therefore a visit to www.lifwithoutlabels perhaps be worthwhile.
